Three Big Talking Points From the Premier League Weekend

It was a busy Premier League weekend in England. Arsenal came from behind to beat Chelsea 2-1, keeping them level at the top of the table with Manchester City. Manchester City also picked up three points with a narrow 1-0 win over Coventry City. Manchester United, on the other hand, dropped points in a 2-2 draw with Everton and are already five points behind the leaders.

Chelsea came to Arsenal's Emirates Stadium full of confidence after a strong start to the season. They had scored seven goals in their first two league games and looked like a real title threat. Manager Xabi Alonso was being praised for his exciting style of play. When Morgan Rogers put Chelsea ahead with a stylish volley, it seemed like their good run would continue.

Arsenal hit back quickly and proved they are a class above Chelsea at this point. Kai Havertz found space in Chelsea's defence and drove a low shot into the net to level the score. Then Martin Odegaard finished off a flowing team move in the 50th minute to give Arsenal the win. Alexander Isak has made a flying start to the season for Liverpool. The Swedish striker has already scored three Premier League goals, matching his total from his whole first season at the club. His first season was badly affected by injuries, which hurt Liverpool's chances of staying at the top. The team slipped from being champions to just scraping into the top five.

This season, a full pre-season under new manager Andoni Iraola has helped Isak find his best form again. He scored twice in the opening ten minutes at Ipswich Town to give Liverpool a 2-0 victory. It was Liverpool's first win under their new manager, and Isak looked sharp and confident throughout. Captain Virgil van Dijk said the team always believed in the striker's quality.

Manchester United's defence is causing serious concern after their draw at Everton. United took the lead twice during the match but could not hold on either time. Everton, even without key players they had tried to sign, still found a way to score two goals. Ainsley Maitland-Niles earned Everton a point with a spectacular strike almost at the final whistle.

United did create good chances going forward, with goals from Bryan Mbeumo and substitute Benjamin Sesko. Marcus Rashford also had an encouraging game in attack. But the failure to strengthen the defence during the transfer window is already looking like a big mistake. Things could get even harder this weekend when Manchester City, one of the best teams in England, come to visit.
