The Atlantic magazine has chosen six young reporters for a special one-year job program. The magazine picked these college graduates from more than 1,300 people who applied. This is the first time The Atlantic has had this program since 2020. The new reporters will start working at the magazine next month.
The six new reporters are Laney Crawley, Catherine Goodman, Nora Lowe, Jack Rodriquez-Vars, Jacob Smollen, and Katherine Weyback. They will spend a whole year working at The Atlantic's main office. During this time, they will learn how to write better news stories and do research. They will also work with experienced reporters to help create articles for the magazine.
These young reporters studied many different subjects in college. Some studied English and journalism, while others learned about science, religion, and art. All of them have already worked at other newspapers, magazines, or radio stations. This experience will help them do a good job at The Atlantic.
