Taylor Swift's Very Famous Wedding Singers Revealed
A sports TV host accidentally spilled details about the star-studded music at Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce's wedding.
Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce got married on July 3 at Madison Square Garden in New York City. The famous pop star and NFL player, both 36 years old, held a huge and very private wedding with about 1,000 guests. Two weeks later, exciting details about the event are finally coming out — including the names of some very famous musicians who performed.
Sports TV host Pat McAfee was one of the guests at the wedding. He hosts a popular show on ESPN and used to be a WWE wrestler. While live on air on Monday, July 13, he confirmed that music legends Stevie Nicks and Paul McCartney had both performed at the wedding. McAfee also added that Taylor Swift herself joined them on stage.
McCartney's performance was especially historic. The former Beatle played 'I Want to Hold Your Hand,' a hit song from 1963. According to McAfee, it was the first time McCartney had played that song in more than 60 years, making it a very special moment for everyone there.
The next day, McAfee revealed even more details. He said that Canadian rock star Avril Lavigne had also performed, playing her popular 2002 song 'Sk8r Boi.' McAfee said the detail slipped out by accident. He also described how the musicians took turns calling each other up to the stage, making it feel like a fun and relaxed jam session.
Many guests were reportedly asked to sign NDAs, which are legal agreements that stop people from sharing what they experienced. That is why very few details have come out so far. Still, a few fun facts about the wedding have made it into the news.
When it came to the ceremony, Swift walked down the aisle to her own song 'Love Story,' which was her first big hit. Guests also received special wedding favors to remember the day. These were lace handkerchiefs with the couple's initials, their wedding date, and a lyric from Swift's 2014 song 'Blank Space' that read: 'So it's gonna be forever...'
Even the location of the wedding was kept secret until after it happened. Signs outside Madison Square Garden then displayed the message 'JusT&T Married,' a fun nod to the couple's shared initials. The wedding has been called the event of the summer, drawing some of the biggest names in music, sports, and entertainment.
I don't want to give away too much, but it was the greatest night of all time.
