Suzy & ITZY's Yeji Are Heading to Singapore This July
Two Korean stars will appear at special events in Singapore, alongside new pop-ups and store openings for beauty and fashion fans.
Singapore is getting some star-powered visits this July. South Korean singer and actress Bae Suzy will appear at a hair care pop-up on July 17, while K-pop idol Hwang Yeji of ITZY will attend a luxury shoe store opening on July 20. Several beauty brands are also launching new pop-ups and stores around the city. It is shaping up to be a busy and exciting month for fans of K-pop and beauty.
Suzy is a global brand ambassador for the Japanese hair care brand Tsubaki. She will make a special appearance at the Tsubaki pop-up at Plaza Singapura at 3pm on July 17. One lucky draw winner will get to meet her on stage, and all fans can see her at the venue. This will be her only appearance in South-east Asia during this trip.
The Tsubaki pop-up runs from July 13 to 26 at the Main Atrium on Level 1 of Plaza Singapura. The event turns the mall's atrium into the 'Tsubaki Salon,' a fun, interactive space where visitors can explore different activity zones. Guests start by activating a digital journey card and collect stamps as they move through each zone. The pop-up is open daily from 10am to 10pm.
The first zone is called the Camellia Passage and uses mirrors and soft lighting to tell the story of the brand's key ingredient. Next, visitors try the brand's signature camellia hair oil, then step inside a giant Tsubaki bottle surrounded by flowers for a photo moment. Trained beauty advisors in a salon-styled zone give free hair and scalp check-ups and suggest personalized hair care routines. Visitors who complete all the activities receive a Tsubaki Travel Pouch Set worth $40.
Meanwhile, fans of ITZY — known as 'Midzys' — have something to look forward to as well. Hwang Yeji, the leader of the popular K-pop girl group, will attend the grand opening of French luxury shoe brand Roger Vivier's new store at Takashimaya on July 20. The event is not open to the public, but fans can catch a glimpse of Yeji during her photo call outside the venue. Yeji is a global brand ambassador for the brand.
The new Roger Vivier boutique is the first in the region designed like a stylish Parisian apartment. It features oak floors, decorative ceilings, and walls in tones of white, beige, and silver. To mark the opening, the store will sell four special limited-edition bags inspired by Singapore — including one with flower sequins for the Garden City, one honoring the national flower, one in flag red, and one with Merlion-scale sequins. The store is at 01-19A Takashimaya Shopping Centre.
Make-up brand M.A.C has teamed up with Chijmes café Glasshouse and local bakery fieldnotes for a sweet treat menu available from June 25 to August 31. The menu is inspired by M.A.C's glossy Lustreglass lip collection and includes a Strawberry Rose Kombucha ($9), a Bandung Rose Matcha ($9.50), and a layered Berryglass cake ($9.90). Shoppers who buy one drink and one cake can get a bundle deal for $18.50. While stocks last, they also receive a M.A.C Phone Grip and a Makeover Voucher.
Finally, French luxury beauty brand Lancôme opened its first Singapore boutique on July 10 at Ion Orchard. The store, La Maison de la Longévité, is focused on longevity skincare — products designed to keep skin healthy and youthful for longer. It is the only place in the region selling Lancôme's new Absolue Longevity MD range, and it features high-tech machines that can analyze your skin and estimate its biological age. It is located at B2-34 Ion Orchard, 2 Orchard Turn.
It will be her only South-east Asia appearance.
