Basketball Star Stacey King Dies at Age 59

The former Chicago Bulls player won three championships and later became a popular TV announcer.

Stacey King, a former basketball player who helped the Chicago Bulls win three championships, has died at age 59. King played alongside the famous Michael Jordan in the 1990s. After his playing career ended, he became a beloved TV announcer for the Bulls. The team announced his death on Sunday.

King was born on January 29, 1967, in Lawton, Oklahoma, and was very tall at 6 feet 11 inches. He went to Lawton High School and then played basketball at the University of Oklahoma. In college, he was one of the best players in the country and helped his team reach the championship game in 1988. The Chicago Bulls picked him as the sixth player in the 1989 NBA Draft.

King was part of the Bulls teams that won championships in 1991, 1992, and 1993. He played with some of the greatest players ever, including Michael Jordan and Scottie Pippen. These Bulls teams are still remembered as some of the best in basketball history. King helped the team succeed during these amazing years as a power forward.

After his playing career ended, King became a TV announcer for Bulls games starting in 2006. He worked for different sports networks over the years, making games more fun and exciting for people at home. Fans loved listening to King because he was funny and knew a lot about basketball. Bulls owner Jerry Reinsdorf said King was special to the team and had been connected to Chicago for more than 30 years.

Stacey King was a cherished member of the Bulls family and one of the truly unique personalities in our organization's history.
