Kyle Busch was a famous NASCAR driver who won many races. He died on May 21 after getting very sick with pneumonia. The sickness got worse and turned into sepsis, which caused his death. Many people in NASCAR were shocked and sad about losing such a great driver.
On Monday night, Kyle's 12-year-old son Brexton raced in the Young Lions division. This was his first race since his father died. Brexton finished sixth place in the race. It was brave of him to keep racing even though he was still sad about his dad.
The next night was even more special. Kyle's father Tom got behind the wheel of car number 51. This was the same car that Kyle was supposed to drive in the Masters Division. Tom is 72 years old, but he wanted to honor his son by racing.
The most touching moment came when Tom took a special lap by himself. All the other drivers parked their cars so Tom could drive alone around the track. Brexton stood in the flagstand and waved the green flag for his grandfather. Then he waved a double-checkered flag as Tom drove down the front stretch.
