Jake Ferguson Says Cowboys 'Don't Have a Ceiling' This Season

The Dallas Cowboys had a tough 2024 season. They finished with a record of 7 wins, 9 losses, and 1 tie, and they missed the NFL Playoffs. Even so, tight end Jake Ferguson says the team has no limits on what it can do this year. He spoke to CBS Sports about why he believes the Cowboys can be one of the best offenses in football.

Ferguson talked about a nickname the Cowboys use for their offense — 'GOTI,' which stands for 'Greatest Offense There Is.' He said the team's leader is quarterback Dak Prescott, who helped bring all the receivers together for a trip to Park City during the offseason. Ferguson pointed out that every single player showed up, which showed how much the team cares about working together.

The trip wasn't just about football practice. Ferguson said it was also about building friendships and trust among teammates. He called this the 'brotherhood' the team is trying to build. That kind of teamwork, he believes, can make a big difference when the games actually start.

Ferguson listed all the weapons the Cowboys have on offense. The team added wide receiver George Pickens and already had stars like CeeDee Lamb and KaVontae Turpin. Ferguson himself had a strong season, catching 82 passes for 600 yards and 8 touchdowns. With so many skilled players, he said, 'We don't have a ceiling.'

He also admitted the team still had things to fix from last season. While the offense was actually very good — ranking second in the whole NFL with nearly 392 yards per game — the defense struggled badly. Dallas gave up an average of 377 yards per game to opponents, which ranked as the third-worst defense in the league.

Fans have high hopes for Dallas this season. The Cowboys last made the playoffs after the 2023 season, but they lost to the Green Bay Packers 48–32 in the first round. If they can win more than that, they might find themselves back in the playoffs — and Ferguson seems to believe that is exactly what will happen.
