Israeli Company Works on New Weapons to Stop Enemy Drones

Israel's biggest military company is working on new weapons to stop dangerous drones. The company called Elbit Systems wants to use laser beams to destroy small flying machines. These drones have been attacking Israeli soldiers in Lebanon since April.

A group called Hezbollah has been sending these attack drones into battle. Hezbollah gets support from the country of Iran. The drones are cheap to make and easy to put together. They can fly into targets and explode like bombs.

These small drones are very hard to stop with normal air defense systems. Israel has been trying to catch them with nets, but this does not work very well. The drones use special cables to stay connected to their controllers.

Bezhalel Machlis is the boss of Elbit Systems. He told reporters that his company is working with Israel's military to solve this problem quickly. Machlis said they might use 'energy weapon solutions' like laser beams to shoot down the drones.

The fighting between Israel and Hezbollah started after a bigger war began last year. Hezbollah says they are responding to Israeli attacks on Lebanese villages. They use both drones and rockets to fight back against Israeli forces.

Many countries now want to buy Israeli military technology. The demand has gone up a lot since the fighting started. Countries in Europe, America, and Asia want Israeli weapons like lasers and night-vision equipment.
