In a Remote Red Sea Paradise, Four Seasons Opens Its Most Ambitious Wellness Resort Yet

June 19, 2026 · Los Angeles Times

The luxury hotel brand's newest property on Saudi Arabia's Red Sea coast is built around health, nature, and cultural discovery.

Four Seasons has opened a brand-new resort on the coast of Saudi Arabia, along the northwestern shore of the Red Sea. The resort is called Four Seasons Resort and Residences AMAALA at Triple Bay. It sits in a quiet bay in the Tabuk region, with mountains behind it and some of the clearest water in the Red Sea right out front. The hotel brand says this may be the most wellness-focused property it has ever built.

The resort is part of a larger project called AMAALA, a new destination being developed along a stretch of coastline that was mostly untouched until recently. The area is dramatic and remote, meaning guests feel far away from the noise and rush of everyday life. That sense of quiet and natural beauty is a big part of what makes the place special.

At the heart of the resort is a massive spa and wellness center called HYLIAA Wellness & Spa. The name comes from the Arabic word for 'elegant beauty,' and the space covers nearly 22,550 square feet. There is also a 5,500-square-foot fitness area, and the resort plans activities around three themes tied to the landscape: sky, land, and sea.

Guests can choose wellness programs built around what they need most, whether that is healing the body, clearing the mind, or connecting with nature. On any given day, someone might try sunrise yoga on the beach, a sound healing session, a guided night hike, or a stargazing event. There are also Islamic poetry readings and cooking workshops, led by a team of fitness, nutrition, and wellness experts.

General Manager Ulf Bremer says the resort is much more than just a spa getaway. 'It's so much more than a spa resort — it's a place where individuals can define their own well-being, with abundant opportunities for cultural exploration, natural discovery, personal growth and more than a little indulgence,' he said. He described the approach to wellness as thoughtful and purposeful throughout the entire destination.

All 202 rooms, suites, and garden villas have views of the sea. The design was created by Dubai-based architects called U+A, and the style feels grand but relaxed, with lush gardens, open-air spaces, and interiors that take in natural light and the beauty of the desert landscape. It is luxurious without feeling stiff or formal.

The resort has six open-air restaurants and lounges. One of them, called MAA Social, focuses on Middle Eastern coastal food with dishes meant to support good health. Later this year, three more spots will open, including ZAATAR for Asian, Persian, and Arabian food; SAFAA Beach Bar and Lounge; and ROCK BAAR, a venue on a rocky point overlooking Dumega Bay where guests can watch the sunset while enjoying mocktails and small bites as music plays.

Families are a big part of the plan at Triple Bay, with a supervised kids' program, a teen club, five pools, and a 900-meter-long beach. Couples looking for a romantic destination will find the resort well-suited for weddings and honeymoons, with about 11,000 square feet of event space available. Whether traveling as a family or as a couple, guests have plenty of options to enjoy.

Beyond the hotel itself, Triple Bay also features its own yacht club, a marina village, and a marine science center called the Corallium Marine Life Institute, designed by the famous architecture firm Foster + Partners. Four Seasons guests can tour the institute to learn about ocean and coastal science. A wellness walking route also connects the resort to the rest of the Triple Bay community.

To celebrate its opening, the resort is offering special introductory packages that include resort credits and wellness add-ons. Guests can make reservations at fourseasons.com/amaalaredsea or by emailing reservations.amaala@fourseasons.com. Saudi Arabia has been growing fast as a travel destination, and this new resort is one of the biggest signs yet of that change.

"It's so much more than a spa resort -- it's a place where individuals can define their own well-being, with abundant opportunities for cultural exploration, natural discovery, personal growth and more than a little indulgence."
