How to Get to Olivia Rodrigo's New Festival Without a Car

Olivia Rodrigo is hosting her very first music festival, called Daisy Chain Fields, on August 29 at Great Park in Irvine, California. The festival will feature artists like Chappell Roan, Doechii, Garbage, and special guests including Stevie Nicks. If you want to go but don't want to deal with traffic or parking, you're in luck. There are several ways to get there by train and shuttle — and some fans may not need a car at all.

The easiest way to get to Daisy Chain Fields is by using Metrolink's Orange County Line. This train runs from Union Station in Los Angeles all the way south to Oceanside. You can ride it to the Anaheim Regional Transportation Intermodal Center, also known as ARTIC, and then catch a festival shuttle nearby at a spot called OCVIBE. The shuttle will take you straight to the festival grounds, but you do need to buy a shuttle pass — check the Daisy Chain Fields website for details.

If you live farther east, like in San Bernardino or Riverside, you can use Metrolink's Inland Empire-Orange County Line instead. This line has a stop in Irvine itself. However, it won't drop you off right at the festival, so you'll need to grab a rideshare, like an Uber or taxi, to cover the last stretch. It still saves you most of the driving, which is a big win on a busy festival day.

Amtrak also serves the area. Its Pacific Surfliner train runs from San Diego County all the way up to San Luis Obispo County, and it makes a direct stop in Irvine. You can check Amtrak's website to see the full list of stops and plan your trip. This is a great choice if you're coming from far away along the California coast.

Not sure which Metrolink line to take to get started? Here are two helpful examples. If you live far north in Los Angeles County, like in Lancaster or Santa Clarita, you can take the Antelope Valley Line to Union Station and then switch to the Orange County Line. If you live in east Los Angeles County, like in Claremont or Baldwin Park, you can take the San Bernardino Line to Union Station and do the same thing. Metrolink's website lets you enter your starting station and choose Irvine as your destination to map out the full trip.

If you're already in or near Irvine, there's even more good news. Daisy Chain Fields is offering three separate shuttle services from different spots at UC Irvine. You can catch a shuttle from the UC Irvine Health and Science Parking Structure at 5100 California Ave., from UC Irvine Lot 70 at 4590 Health Sciences Road, or from the UC Irvine Mesa Parking Structure at 4002 Mesa Road. These shuttles make it easy to park once and ride the rest of the way.

Getting home after the show is also covered. Metrolink announced three special late-night trains just for festivalgoers. Train 698 leaves Anaheim heading to Oceanside at 11:30 p.m., Train 699 departs Irvine for Union Station in Los Angeles at 11:40 p.m., and Train 898 leaves Irvine for San Bernardino-Downtown at 11:30 p.m. That means you won't have to leave the concert early just to catch a ride home.

The festival opens its gates at 10:30 a.m. PDT, giving you plenty of time to arrive and explore. Entrances close at 10 p.m., which is when Olivia Rodrigo and her special guests are expected to wrap up the show. Great Park is located at 8000 Great Park Boulevard in Irvine.
