High School Football: Week 7 Schedule

October 4, 2026 · Los Angeles Times

Dozens of teams across Los Angeles and Southern California hit the field this week for some big high school matchups.

It is Week 7 of the high school football season, and teams all over the Los Angeles area and Southern California are ready to play. Games run from Monday through Saturday, with both City Section and Southern Section teams in action. Most games kick off at 7 p.m., but some have different start times. Friday night has the most games by far, with hundreds of teams taking the field.

Monday starts the week with a few City Section games. In the Northern League, L.A. Marshall visits Franklin. Two nonleague games are also on tap — Hawkins at West Adams at 6 p.m. and Los Angeles at Torres at 3:30 p.m. It is a small but solid start to the week.

Wednesday has just one contest, as Lucerne Valley travels to Desert Chapel in a Southern Section 8-man nonleague game. The 8-man game is played with fewer players on each side, making it a fast and exciting style of football. It may be only one game, but the players will give it their all.

Thursday picks up with more action across both sections. In the City Section, Narbonne heads to Gardena in a Marine League game. Southern Section games on Thursday include big matchups like Mission Viejo at Yorba Linda, Etiwanda at Damien, and Rancho Cucamonga at Chino Hills. Fans in the Mojave River League can catch Oak Hills at Apple Valley or Sultana at Serrano.

Friday is the biggest night of the week by a wide margin. The City Section has games in nearly every league, from the Central League to the Western League. Highlights include Bell at South Gate, Garfield at South East, and Venice at Fairfax. Birmingham meets Taft in the West Valley League, and Carson faces Wilmington Banning in the Marine League.

The Southern Section's Friday schedule is just as packed. The Trinity League, known as one of the toughest leagues in the state, delivers big games like Mater Dei vs. JSerra and Orange Lutheran vs. St. John Bosco. Servite takes on Santa Margarita at Saddleback College. These matchups often feature some of the top players in the entire country.

Other strong Southern Section Friday games include San Clemente at Los Alamitos, Beverly Hills at South Torrance, and Ayala at Glendora in the Sierra League. Culver City meets West Torrance in the Pioneer League, while West Ranch faces Hart at College of the Canyons in the Foothill League. There is also an intersectional matchup with Belmont at Hoover at 6 p.m., meaning the two teams come from different sections of competition.

Saturday rounds out the week with a smaller but exciting group of games. In the Del Rey League, Crespi travels to Harvard-Westlake for a big showdown. Long Beach Wilson takes on Long Beach Poly at Long Beach Cabrillo, and St. Bonaventure plays Bishop Diego. Several 8-man games are also set for Saturday, including Sage Hill at Pasadena Poly at 11 a.m. Week 7 is full of great football from start to finish.

Games are spread across the week, with Friday night being the busiest night of all.
