Fast Access to Trump's Truth Social Posts Goes on Sale for $100,000 a Month

August 1, 2026 · France 24

Wall Street traders can now pay for early, high-speed access to President Trump's social media posts, raising big questions about fairness and using public office for personal gain.

Starting this Saturday, Wall Street traders can pay $100,000 a month to get super-fast access to President Donald Trump's posts on his Truth Social platform. The service is called Truth API, and it gives paying customers a high-speed connection to Trump's announcements about trade, war, and the economy. Because Trump's posts can cause stock prices to jump or fall within seconds, early access could mean huge profits for traders. Ethics experts — people who study what is right and wrong in public life — say the service crosses a line between running the country and making money from it.

Trump's social media posts have a powerful effect on financial markets. When he writes about tariffs, interest rates, or world events, prices for stocks, bonds, and currencies can shoot up or crash down almost instantly. This makes his posts extremely valuable to a special group called high-frequency traders. These firms use powerful computers to buy and sell stocks in tiny fractions of a second, making money off even the smallest price changes.

Some experts are alarmed by the new service. Irene Aldridge, who runs a trading firm called Able Alpha Trading, said, 'If this was the CEO of a public company, this would be jail time.' She pointed out that Trump, as president, knows about policy changes before anyone else — and now a select group of rich traders can get that information fast. Her firm does not plan to buy the service.

Truth Social says it releases posts to paying traders and the general public at the exact same time, so there is no unfairness. But trading expert Joe Saluzzi disagrees, saying what matters is not when the post goes out, but when it is received and processed. A firm with powerful computers will always beat a regular person to the information. 'The loser is always the retail investor,' he said — meaning everyday people who trade stocks on their own.

Ethics experts say it is also troubling that Trump has been posting about specific companies he likes, causing their stock prices to spike. In April, Trump praised a tech company called Palantir Technologies, and its stock jumped to its highest point in a whole year within moments. Later that month, he praised Intel, and its stock immediately rose. Dylan Hedler-Gaudette, a government ethics expert, called the situation 'a real mess.'

It is not yet clear which trading firms have signed up for the service. If just three firms join, the $300,000 in monthly fees would nearly double what Trump Media made in all of last year. Despite President Trump helping drive attention to the platform, the company has lost hundreds of millions of dollars and its stock price has dropped 75 percent since he took office. Senator Elizabeth Warren promised to investigate, calling it 'open corruption.'

"The loser is always the retail investor."
