A Sugababe Shares Her 90-Day Dating Rule: The Best Podcasts of the Week

This week's best podcasts have something for everyone. Whether you enjoy real-life mysteries, parenting advice, or honest talks about relationships, there is a show worth tuning into. One of the most talked-about picks features Keisha Buchanan, a member of the famous pop group Sugababes, opening up about how she screens people before dating them. Listeners across the UK and beyond can find these shows on platforms like BBC Sounds and other major podcast apps.

The top pick of the week is a podcast called 'The Girls Are Talking.' It brings together five women of colour for honest, lively conversations about real life. Keisha Buchanan from the Sugababes explains that she watches potential partners closely for 90 days before committing to them. TikToker Tara Thorpe also gets candid, sharing that she nearly got a divorce but couldn't afford the £550 fee to do so. The show sits somewhere between a fun chat show and a serious discussion, making it both entertaining and relatable.

Another standout this week is a podcast called 'Spiral,' produced by Tortoise and the Observer. It explores how using AI chatbots has affected the mental health of real people. Technology editor Patricia Clarke interviews people whose emotional struggles were made worse by spending too much time talking to AI. The show does not claim that AI causes mental illness, but it raises important questions about how technology can blur the line between what is real and what is not. It is a thought-provoking listen that may stay with you long after you finish.

Parents who are up in the middle of the night will want to check out 'The Late-Night Parent Club.' This podcast is hosted by Minah Shannon, who is known from the hit TV show 'Traitors.' She talks to health experts like Dr. Punam Krishan and midwife Marie Louise to give tired parents some calm and helpful guidance. New episodes come out twice a week, making it easy to keep up with. The show is made by MadeForMums and is available on most major podcast platforms.

True crime fans have a new reason to get excited, thanks to the return of 'Bear Brook: A Private Matter.' This is the third season of an award-winning investigative podcast from New Hampshire Public Radio. The mystery begins when a Christmas tree farmer named Jay Hickey disappeared at the end of 2023. His wife Patricia never reported him missing to the police, and months went by before anyone noticed he was gone. Fans of twisty, suspenseful storytelling will find this season hard to put down.

Finally, former U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton is co-hosting a new podcast series called 'High Stakes.' She teams up with journalist Kara Swisher to discuss the upcoming U.S. midterm elections. The show covers big topics like the rising cost of living and some of former President Trump's more controversial ideas. Clinton brings sharp wit to the conversations, including a funny line about her own approval ratings. New episodes drop weekly, making it a must-listen for anyone interested in American politics.
